Personally I don't see why my cute 2dwaifurobot would turn down being comforted, caressed and cuddled after a hard day of being a good waifu lazying around on the bed in standby mode (when I suppose she could be doing something useful). But then maybe it's just me and I also tend to dislike the term "sex robot" in general (as opposed to, for example, waifu robot), because "sexuality" that is based merely on physical attraction has always seemed pointless and shallow to me.

Moreover, the people in this sub here pretend as if this would affect only guys, when I read around on certain female-oriented subs and them proudly proclaiming to sleep around with guys based only on physical attraction. And then this of course also brings up the question of what personality type a robot is allowed to assume in regards to sexuality or romance. If you go away from "sexuality isn't all about the waifu" (but also about comforting the male)... then there could be a hypothetical robot trying to get sex from the man and him not being in the mood. Which kind of makes sense, considering how some allege for certain types of women to have a much higher sex drive than men. Seems like the dynamics here would be really... yeah... The entire "sex robot" (by name) sentiment is why society is as undesirable as it is today. People are all egoistic and deluded, whereas others who aren't deluded will have to deal with weird consequences. So it would weird to end up in a situation in which people aren't allowed to have "healthy" relationships with robot waifus because others have to project their illness or traumatic personal experiences.

So I did some digging on this paper sited in the article when I saw it was written by two men, and the paper has been super misrepresented in several online news sites. The paper is actually about developing a therapy regime for men with personality disorders to better help them understand social ques for consent etc. But this was envisioned as a form of therapy that would make use of sex dolls and AI programming {when they become available), and not for general use in sex dolls.
