When you frame it as Master vs slave instead of alpha vs beta.

It struck me as I watched a documentary on the fall of Britain and noticed how the queen looked at the king of Britain with such admiration. His body language was of extreme confidence I've rarely seen.

Every previous human society has had slavery (I'd argue we have a special form of slavery today based on fiat, but it'd make this post too long.)

It crossed my mind that in some societies women could marry out of slavery, while I could never think of an example for men. Men in slavery rarely had children. It probably never even crossed their mind. One's life was reminiscent of a march to death. Why introduce a child to that?

Now emotionally and body language wise. The two would be extraordinarily different. As I noticed the king of Britain vs the poor of India in the documentary.

Masters would portray

  • No emotional inhibition
  • Confidence in themselves and the future
  • Abundance
  • Loud stature and presence
  • ...

Slaves would portray

  • Emotional inhibition
  • Lack of confidence in the future
  • Fear, anxiety, scarcity
  • Apologetic behavior
  • ...

You would have to be, because many slaves were beaten into submission. Surrounded by societies that would not allow them escape. Their social standing in place. Defined. The only escape would normally be death. Akin to having a terminal illness. Many slaves would had been freemen that received this death sentence. Beyond physical, it'd be intellectual and emotional.

Women hate slave body language and are repulsed by it. Had it been any different society would had fallen apart.

Modern men have been conditioned to display slave neediness and anxiety in relationships. While women are told to look for the highest value men or use low value men strictly on a resource needed basis. Feminism never really removed patrichry. It simply elevated the status of most women. Moved women into the workforce and men out of the family. There's still a strong patrichry at higher levels. There are men that own labor, land, wealth, armies and much more that will continue on for the foreseeable future.

Alpha vs beta was never clearly defined, but now it makes a little more sense.
