While MRAs want to even the playing field in an attempt to establish an idealistic sense of equality, MGTOW and TRP attempt to tilt the field to men’s favor.

Meh, MGTOW is just realizing that the only winning move in the current game is not to play. It doesn't necessarily seek to do anything.

Now, it might or might not help create an advantage for men. Anything that increases male scarcity will tend to increase male value just by the laws of supply and demand. Nothing like a war to cause a resurgence in family values, and lots of dead men...

Also, I don't really see MGTOW/PUA/MRA and TRP as being particularly mutually exclusive. I always thought of TRP as just being a set of knowledge, and the rest as being things people choose to do with it.

There isn't any reason that a man couldn't choose to do all of:

Abstain from marriage/cohabitation (and thus be MGTOW)
Manipulate women into sex (and thus be PUA)
and advocate for reforming marriage law (and thus be an MRA)

Any individual man can do none, one, or more than one of the above.

I do think that PUA/MGTOW are essentially men-only by their nature, but I don't really think the same is true of MRA. Obviously women could also choose not to get married or cohabitate, and women certainly choose to manipulate men into relationships/sex, but in both cases the way they tend to go about it is fairly different. On the other hand on the MRA front I think the tactics tend to be fairly conventional just owing to our system of government. Changing laws requires collective action by its nature, and usually requires both men and women to cooperate.

Now, just as any individual can choose to do any combination of the above, any individual can also believe that any of the above is a waste of time. I'm not saying it is better to do more than one of the above or really advocating for any approach. Heck, I tend to agree with Stardusk that maybe some men might even be happier not taking TRP at all.

I agree that these different sets of behaviors are not in competition with each other, which was the overall point of the post. I was just objecting to the idea that MGTOW is somehow about creating advantage for men. If anything I see MGTOW as just walking away and not caring how the game is being played. If you decide to go move to a cabin in the woods and live off the land on your own, why would you care about how the battle of the sexes is going?

It's nice to see the sentiment of acceptance of all men rather than infighting. I don't think TRP or MGTOW were represented accurately in that post, but I guess that's secondary.

We cannot claim a single sub to be the centre point of all our philosophy. The perils of falling under an umbrella: you become yet another NPC instead of becoming truly independent in thought and action.
