I have caught my wife cheating on me with the same guy 4 times in 2 years. I am looking to do everything I can to get full custody of my 2 kids. How do I prepare?

I hear you.. This is a horrible thing to go through and I feel your pain. But it's good you're trying to be smart about this.

Step #1. Talk to an attorney. A good one - not one you find in the phone book. Laws vary by state, but I'm guessing that it will be a difficult conversation and a reality check. Chances are her infidelity has little or no bearing on custody. Chances are that if you start spying on her phone that's illegal and will seriously, seriously backfire on you later. But check with a lawyer on all that.

The best thing you can do for custody is a) be the best parent you can be and b) keep a journal. You say your wife can't handle the kids... document what you mean by this and when you see examples of that. Again, ask the attorney about this.

And take care of yourself emotionally. This doesn't seem important now, but it will later, trust me. You need to get out of that space where it's all about her, and what she's done, and how unfair it is and start building the awesome life you'll have once she's gone.

Hire an attorney. Shop around. The answers you want are jurisdiction dependent. Document everything. Back up texts and emails. Use written communication. Go to therapy. You can complain to your therapist about you wife and the attorney. Have a couple of previously divorced friends to help you out. It will get worse than you can imagine and also better than expected, at the same time.

Sorry your going through this. See a GA attorney. I believe In Ga you use adultery as cause . But need to see attorney for requirements.

While it totally sucks that she cheated on you, why are you seeking full custody, if I may ask? Her being a cheater and bad wife doesn’t necessarily make her a bad parent. We obv don’t have the full picture from your post; but just sounds like you want to get back at her with the custody stuff. Cheating is definitely tough and I can see why you want to get a divorce, but why full custody is all I’m saying. You can both get 50-50 if she isn’t as bad a mother as she is a wife. Good luck, man
