Just talked to my best friend who called to tell me what happened. Now, I love this woman ; we’ve been best friends for decades! We are opposites in many ways, but have never let it affect the friendship.

She was apparently tootling down a road in the country and was pulled over for speeding. The officer cites her for more than 20 miles over the speed limit. She’s crying her eyes out and said “the speed limit wasn’t posted on that road”. She thinks her tears should have had an effect on the cop for some reason.

I’m laughing my ass off and she was not amused. She really believes he should have felt sorry for her and given her a warning instead. I told her he would have but she was flying down that road. Also told her to expect a huge chunk of money owed. She’s also mad that she has to go to court instead of just paying by mail. I’m thinking she was going faster than she’s admitting. I’m still laughing; can’t help it. Maybe should have posted this in AITA.
