Another female college student charged with filing false rape report. Probably why feminists want schools to handle things. Lying to the police has consequences.

let’s see how many feminists will be against this equality as the would have to be working longer lol

Men live shorter lives so it's only fair they retire later ... is that the logic?

One could argue part of why women live longer is they stop working earlier.

That'd be so nice to retire at 50 or 60

Online debate? In China? Against the government? I can hardly believe it.

especially egregious when you consider the difference in expected lifespan.

Quite the patriarchy we have that this is a controversial idea!

This must be a mistake. They have less work to do now that technology is taking over jobs. They should be dropping the retirement age to 40.

That's how we were thinking back in the sixties. Working hours declined from more than sixty hours per week to around forty in about half a century mostly due to mechanisation. By the eighties many folk were retiring at 55 or 60. We were expecting this trend to continue and the idea of thirty five hour weeks was already on the agenda. Instead it eventually went the other way. The increase in western retirement ages actually has more to do with governments not wanting to relinquish the tax noose. Looks like China has the same problem.

I don't usually poke fun at feminism, but here we go.

I know that in some situations women get treated like shit in Romanized nations, but whenever they annoy the hell out of me I can't help but ask them what their movement has done to benefit their sisters in Asia.

I've been living in Asia for almost 20 years and I can say with certainty that the vast majority of this vast continent is incredibly chauvinistic. In developing and 3rd world countries in Asia, women's rights are often 50-200years behind Romanized nations.

In China, making women work as long as men is a load of BS for many. The majority of women are very traditional minded and if you live that lifestyle you aren't entitled to nearly as much as the men are.

If you have a son, you're expected to buy him a car and a house. If you have a daughter, you'll be paying for a percentage of the wedding, but the only wedding gifts you get over here is money and weddings are designed to make profit so it's not a big deal at the end of the day.

If you're a traditional woman, you're expected to put your husband's family first after you get married. The welfare of your own family is only relevant if you and your husband are very well off financially. Over the past generation we've seen a lot fewer of the wives' family left in the dust due to more people prospering financially, but there are still parents that get abandoned.

If you're a traditional women you're expected to get married as soon as you graduate from university. If you're 27 and single, your parents will literally be losing sleep every night thinking that there's something wrong with you and that you'll be single forever. If you're single and 30, you're referred to as a leftover.

Only recently has the 1 child policy been lifted and before this, it put a huge strain on parents with daughters because your off-spring are expected to take care of you after you retire.

Literally less than 10% of the population under the age of 30 can fathom how they'd get by without children because they've bought into this idea that children exist to serve their family until they retire and are served by their children.

In 2014 or 2015 (can't remember) they allowed a married couple to have a 2nd child if the husband or wife were only children.

In 2018 China implemented a 2 child policy.

The next problem is that there aren't nearly enough people who can financially afford to have 2 children, let alone 3. 20 years ago it was acceptable for people in rural areas to have a 2nd child if their first child was a son so that their kids could help them out with farm work or whatever their family did.

Now China is practicing the 3 child policy. Not because there are so many parents with daughters that are left with no-one to take care of them (retirement homes are considered nightmares) but because the population is getting so old.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't have much pity for women as a whole in North America, but I feel pretty bad for what they go through outside of romanized nations and I've got no use for feminism because it does nothing but serve the selfish interests of women on a very small scale while attempting to chastise men.

Men live less ... But work longer ... Ok ok

I bet females did not stand up for that ?

Just like conscription :) or military service ?
