During her closing address, Public Defender Madeleine Avenell, SC, hadtold the jury the combination of evidence from the key witness, MsRidgeway's friend Nikita Hanson, who said she saw Mr Adams step forward"closer and closer" to Ms Ridgeway until the knife "entered his body",and the expert opinion of a forensic pathologist meant "at a minimum"the jury could not exclude "the reasonable possibility that Mr Adamswalked himself onto the knife".

Are you serious? I've heard some bullshit in my life, but the fact that society really is willing do defend a murderer just because she's a woman is one of the stupidest things I've heard. Why do woman get more leniency? Unfair.

And how would that exactly work!? Walking into someone doesn't produce the force needed to stab someone to death. I think it is very reasonable to assume that someone would stop walking into a knife the moment they feel it entering their body, self preservation is still a thing.

The last paragraph states that they are considering running a second trial since it was an even split. So hopefully this isnt the end of an obvious murder.
