So I found this chart on Twitter and it really struck me:

You've probably heard of the murder gap, the suicide gap, the college gap, and so on. Well, the drinking-to-death gap between men and women leaves them all behind. For instance, in the USA four times as many men as women die from alcohol overconsumption. I'm still digging but it looks to me as if there isn't a country in the world where more women than men drink themselves to death.
I could be wrong! But I don't think people who drink themselves to death are content with how society has treated them. Maybe, just maybe, this is evidence that America (and the world) is not a man-loving patriarchy.
