With the chance to be called a weeb. There is a reason i consume most japanese media because:

1: it is actually entertaining

2: it isn't preachy

3: it doesn't try to bash me just for being male (looking at you Marvel Comics)

When cable tv became nothing but "reality" tv aka shouting matches i stopped watching tv.

When movies stopped being good i stopped going to the movies.

The problem is who cares if the main protanginist is a woman , a man , a trans , a panasexual or whatever the hell!

If the story and characters are good , its good , people watch movies for enrtertainment not to see every minority to be represented and the most ironic thing is , forced representation actually makes people hate representation more.

The problem is that modern Hollywood feels the need to put men down in order to raise women up. What made Sarah Connor work was that she was just as competent as John Connor (In The Original) or The Terminator himself (In The Sequel).

They didn't make John a bumbling bafoon who could barely get out of his way. This isn't a problem unique to female characters, there are plenty of shows who have overpowered male leads but I think the overpowered female lead is far more common especially in modern media. They're so afraid to show a woman fail or not be this perfect magical person that they bungle the heroes journey.

The whole point of a hero isn't that they start out on imperfect but work on themselves over time. I know that was a huge problem with the Mulan remake.
