The adjusted wage gap in most countries is a few cents. It is also a result from pressure from women to seek providers, which is often neglected. Victim shaming is a mess and allows people to turn a multi-faceted responsibility into a "it is all their fault!", which is stupid and promotes childish behavior. Hopefully this wakes you up that the things you named aren't just "disadvantages that exist for women" and they all go much deeper than simple black-and-white problems.

Is an assumption that for one, the balance is against them and two, they will fight for it only to equalize it, should it be in their disadvantage. Note that this directly opposes

Society should be equally balanced

and means feminism cannot be a movement which can fight for equality for all. It can only ever fight for women, and it presumably does so by only tackling aspects where women are disadvantaged (which is not true).

So are you all here advocating for equal fairness, or not?

Sometimes anger from abuse comes across as abusive. And realistically, it's really only victorian Europe to modern America that has seen the mistreatment of women, there were a very many progressive societies in history.

To me this is about the modern feminism that's become socially sanctioned abuse. And how there has been unfairness and abuse from both sides. I feel it's more about being honest than being politically correct

Did you know the 50's through the 70's boys were made to swim and do sports naked, in school in front of a public audience on a regular basis? And we're required to be nude in many public places of sport? Why isn't that a major topic of discussion when we talk about systemic abuse and sexualization? We give men crap for being creepy for smiling at kids, and here is 30+ years of ladies as school teachers making youth and teen boys preform naked for them while they are at work.

Do we talk about the rate of death and suicide in men, or that men almost exclusively work the most dangerous jobs? Women are keen to be CEOs and doctors but not competing hard to be oil rig operators or miners. This is a wage gap issue, welders can make $100k, hair dressers really don't. Wanna close that gap, grab a shovel and be up at 3:30a

Do we talk about how 70%+ of divorces are initiated by the wife and that men have primary custody of children less than half the time? Talk about equality. Cause ruining someone's family isn't abusive right?

Do I deny that society mistreats women also, no. But that doesn't mean men always have the upper hand. But after years of abuse by women, the emotional manipulation, financial abuse, and their social expectation that men always do the dangerous jobs, people get salty. If you want to permanently silence the anger, fix the root problem. It's about perspective, and hurt people act angrily.

No this sub is not about hating women. The idea that supporting men is somehow about hating women is as harmful as me saying feminists are just man haters. Its just different perspectives.

It's not fair to present a biased interpretation of history as fact. Society did and to a lesser extent still does have gender roles that in some instances benefit men and some instances benefit women. This was never a patriarchy where men ruled it over women. It was a trade off in a world before modern medicine or welfare or workers rights' both genders suffered in different fashions.

Men being liable for their partners debts' the vast majority of men also not having the right to vote' wage gaps always primarily being down to men being forced into the role of breadwinner and working longer hours in more dangerous and profitable jobs. The narrative of women being historically oppressed either ignores the social pressures on men or labels them to be result of patriachy and male privilege. Its just such a narrow minded perspective of a complex issue. The right to vote argument particularly annoys me - its historical fact that most men could not vote yet is commonly portrayed that this only applied to women. There are many valid issues women face no need to misrepresent history.

Exactly. There historically has been and still are certain situations where it is advantageous to be male and certain situations where it is advantageous to be female. Acknowledging the pros or cons one gender faced/faces does not dismiss the other ones pros and cons. Pretending that one gender was or is oppressing the other completely diminishes their own struggles.

My question is if this sub has become a place to attempt to keep women in their place and upholding one unfair status quo by labeling feminist activism as the opposite end of the spectrum. So are you all here advocating for equal fairness, or not?

I think the majority on here advocate for equality and are just sick of being told that raising mens issues in some way means they are not doing so. I can say I support a womans right to abortion while still saying it's a concern male domestic violence victims are criminally underfunded compared to female victims. The annoyance with feminism comes from it shrugging off mens issues as being mens fault then demanding support for womens issues from the same men they dismiss.

Nothing wrong with equal status for all. At present men and women dont have equal status- men have some advantages women have some advantages. If men are being berated for their 'privilege' then why shouldn't female privilege be discussed. If you want equality you have to address both sides. Portraying it as women struggling for equality while men try to keep them down is a false and harmful narrative.

What real patriarchal values would give 1000s of years of safety for women while giving men all the dangerous jobs? And allot of these dangerous jobs was forced for example being a soldier in the army. 0.00001% of all men in history had any power and 0.000001% of women in history had any power. While 0.05% of all men in history had safety guarantee by people in power or the society and 0.5% of all women in history had safety guarantee by people in power or the society.
