I think it also has to do with not attacking the identity of her target audience, that being skeptical feminists. Its much easier to engage them in a framework they already understand and adopted, if you will.

Correct, feminism was rotten even from the first wave. The concept of women's suffrage was noble, but ultimately even the first-wavers who pushed for it played dirty. Many women at that time actually argued against their own right to suffrage because men were given theirs in recognition of the fact that only men had to sign up for the draft, and they did not want to be drafted. Then feminism decided to change their message to, "You'll get the right to vote AND you won't have to sign up for the draft," literally the definition of privilege without responsibility. That's when women started to support female suffrage en masse, causing the men in charge to be guilt tripped into agreeing to a completely unfair and unequal deal, which has still not been corrected under the law to this day.

The first wave is essentially when the feminist movement learned how easy it is to make money by giving women privilege without responsibility, which set a terrible precedent that has corrupted the movement ever since.

I disagree that feminism at the start was rotten. It gained a lot in terms of women's suffrage, etc. Just modern feminism has lost its way, and is now championing superiority over equality.
