Wouldn't he still be able to go after them with assault charges and have the company sued for not providing a safe work environment? Not sure how fucked up French laws are.

I think it may actually be that companies are scared to defend their employees, in general. All these years of catering to the customer's entitlement, in combination with corporations being scared of pissing off customers, and that it's cheaper to hire a new employee instead of covering the needs of your current employees means that these big companies could give a shit less what happens to their groundforce. As far as they're concerned, the customer is way more important than any lowly, replaceable employee will ever be

It seems that the woman who attacked him got a year in prison, but the driver was seen as showing a lack of control and an inappropriate response (but it doesnt say what that was), even though he said that he thought he might die in the attack. Impossible to judge that one without the video evidence. Would they have done the same if a woman driver was attacked? Im guessing not.
