Well considering acid attacks are apparently a fairly common thing is some european countries that probably wouldn't work.
Still horrible though, I'd rather be shot then go through this

While I agree that victims and perpetrators of acid attacks should be treated the same way, regardless of gender, world wide 80% of acid attacks are against women and many are motivated by gendered issues, usually men who are mad about some kind of rejection, usually sexual or the rejection of a proposal.
