Don’t get me wrong, I (21/f) support women loving their bodies and accepting flaws. But what about the men? Where is all this support for men that don’t fit the stereotypes of what a “real man” looks like? So many women I know support body positivity but will make fun of a man for his penis size openly and It makes my blood boil. The hypocrisy is so upsetting. Men are humans too, with emotions and insecurities and we should be validating their natural bodies as well.
Edit: essentially don’t be an ass about people’s bodies? Feel like it’s not that hard y’all.
Edit 2: if you haven’t encountered this in your friend groups, thats good! Keep in mind I am in my early 20s and as such, have many friends around the same age and have repeatedly witnessed a lot of crude and hurtful comments directed at previous sexual partners. I would hope that matured adults no longer talk like this. I really want the basis of body shaming to be addressed though and this idea that some bodies are less than others, especially regarding something so private.
Edit 3: I didn’t think this would blow up, thank you guys! I want to point out again that this isn’t just about genitals. Yes it’s in the title but body shaming can be attributed to height, acne, baldness (that’s to whoever brought this to my attention), body hair, etc. We have to learn to love ourselves and be unbothered but the basis of these societal expectations make it difficult for younger people to gain confidence and could struggle more than necessary into adulthood.

The whole body acceptance movement, or whatever you want to call it, has always been about fat women. Never baldness, not fat men, not men at all, not the disfigured or scarred, not amputees or the disabled - just fat women

Rich white feminists making it all about them as usual. One thing I've always found amusing is seeing feminist journalist writing articles about dating and what they do is essentially cover for their single female friends or themselves when it comes to the dating scene.
The 'body acceptance' or 'fat positivity' movement is just another way they try to shame men for not being attracted to unpleasant, fat overweight women who will hate them no matter what they do anyway. I actually particularly hate these people because they're trying to convince women that being not just fat but morbidly obese is healthy and normal when it isn't and the only reason they're being rejected is because of misogynistic guys who expect women to look like models.
Meanwhile they're that fat and they actually demand guys be rich, have abs and are above 6 foot.

Yeah.. that's because fat women were once fat children. As a fat woman I remember that trauma of being bullied. Difference is that I do remember it was mostly girls excluding me... Not boys.

My sincere thanks to women like them who show some concern for men too.
But, I really suspect that the post wouldn't have received the same (positive) response it did, had the person not mentioned that she was 21 F. Had it been posted by a man, it'd probably have been a target for shaming (so meta)...

Nice to see the comment section is fairly supportive. Usually people try to dodge this topic.

The worst thing about penis size shaming is that the man has no recourse or means to dispute. My whole life (60m) I've heard women say "Oh, that big car is to compensate for his small penis", or, and this is my favorite, if something is implied about well endowment and you vaguely say something in agreement some woman sneers and says 'Oh, you wish!' If the man says 'Want to find out?' then he is somehow a creep or a sex offender. There is no way to counter such an ignorant comment, and it's perfectly okay for everyone to laugh at the man.

Women are much better at words than us, and they use them with great skills to deceive their real intentions: This is not body acceptance, this is fat and gluttony acceptance. Your body is not naturally fat.
It's completely different that shaming penis size, height, baldness, vagina size, age or skin color. You cannot change any of that stuff, shaming people on something you cannot change is particularly evil, and it's equivalent to, for example, racism.
Shaming somebody because he/she is fat, is completely acceptable. Fatness is unhealthy, it affects everybody because fat people tax the health care system much more than thin people and we end up paying for keeping their enormous bodies artificially alive.
90% of COVID deaths are obese people. Body acceptance didn't helped them.

I don't mind having someone call my penis small if that means I can call someone a fatass when they claim they're a BBW.
