The article says:

"a 14yo boy expressed interest in her", feels like someone is trying to excuse her and blame the kid
"Shawna's story is just one more example of why sex offender registries are cruel and unjust", that writer would be the same one who says that this isn't cruel enough if the pedophile was a man
"there are countless others who carry the "sex offender" label because they sexted a fellow teen", yeah what's wrong with that?

"Now Shawna is spending the rest of her life on the sex offender registry, even though the mother of two is obviously no threat to children" She is a threat actually and she will stay, she is someone who was a fully mentally healthy adult who chose to have sex with a minor, and it's very righteous that she would spend her life as sex offender and lose her job etc, just as the same that happens to a male pedophile.

There is a hinted blame on the victim, sympathizing with a pedophile, and discrimination against men, just because the criminal is a female doesn't mean we should be emotional or give her a less hard time, this double standard should go down.

I'm not defending her but strictly speaking it is pedophilia if he already reached puberty. He's underage but that doesnt mean she's a pedo.

Reason is a pretty staunchly libertarian magazine; I honestly could see them defending a 19-year-old guy having sex with a 14-year-old-girl.

I'm not sure there's any hypocrisy in this one. It's gross, but I'm not sure it's hypocritical.

What makes you think this person is a pedophile? Perhaps you need to look up the meaning of the word. Then it’s likely you will realize that this person is not a pedophile.
