Good riddance to that rapist.

He was 12 and she was in a position of substantial institutional power over him (being his teacher). Her act was an atrocious one. It was rape.

I bet if the sexes were swapped, Letourneau's act would be treated as proof of entitled white male exploitation of ethnic minority girls. Yet we still have people denying that women can commit rape. We even have people denying that women can be pedophiles despite instances like this.

At the very least, it is good to see the New York Times (hardly a platform friendly to men's issues) describing Letourneau's act as "rape."
