It’s debatable. Having said that, if you were a woman and it was a man pressuring you into having sex, society would absolutely see it as sexual assault.

My opinion: Yes, of course.

Legally: Depends on where you live, and what you mean when you say "pressured" and also what you mean by "sex".

In some places you are just plain SOL for being male and/or having female perpetrators but that is becoming more rare. If you live somewhere that you can qualify the deck is still very much stacked against you because the legal definitions of the crime are generally written with male perpetrators in mind. The tactics used by, and sex acts selected by, female perpetrators are less likely to be covered.

On top of that, you would have the bigger problem that police, courts, and public opinion are just straight up stacked against men. If she counter-claims that you raped her, how would you prove otherwise?

All that being said, you may have one thing going for you; your age at the time was below the age of consent. How old was your friend at the time?

Is she was older you may have a case, but be warned that she may still claim you used force against her.

Nope. She pressured you into having sex, not forced. Everyone has the choice to just walk away. You are not somehow inferior to her, she does not have authority over you, you let the pressure get to you. I've had plenty of sex I regret and felt pressured to do but that doesn't make it rape or 'assault'. Its manipulative and gross but its not like the other person always knows where the line is either, I've managed to turn a no into a yes and it wasn't out of malice or ill intent.

a lot of people seem to be answering when there isn’t nearly enough info. was she older than you? if so was she over 18? you say “pressured”, does that mean she just convinced you to do it? or did she actually force herself on you?

my best guess would be that she is about the same age as you since you said she was your best friend, and she probably just convinced you to partake and didn’t force herself on you.

if that is the case then no... not really assault.

Yes, without a doubt. I’m so sorry this happened to you and you should definitely call them out on social media for doing this to you if you’re comfortable with doing that.
