What jumped out at me about this story was the teacher she told was a man.

"The Corvallis Police Department investigated after a teacher reported that one of his 17-year-old students had told him about the abuse. "

We're often told by feminists that men can't be around abused women. This is why DV shelters, who are legally required to assist both men and women by accepting federal funds, will not allow men into the shelters. That's why some police departments policy is for rape victims to talk to female officers (Wonder how that affects men reporting.) Maybe 10 years back there was even a take back the night march where they had a women's only section because a rapist may choose to march with his victim. They didn't show any concern for men raped by women.

In this case, I'm sure she had ample opportunities to report to a female teacher, but chose to confide in a male.
