Realizing that I have a lot of what my wife calls "toxic male traits" trying to learn what that means.

Hello,

I have had a huge fight with my wife about not going to the Dr because I am fine, don't need to see one blah blah blah. It got to the point where she was crying begging me to go so I don't die and leave her alone.

I have agreed to take care of myself, Something I have never really done. She pointed out that I have so much toxic masculinity, and that controls all my actions and is why I would refuse someone offering to help, or way to help myself out of pride. I really don't understand what she means, and figure this is the place to learn, because I can not keep going the way I am, I see how much it hurts her. How do I fix it?

:::Edit::: I really don't know what to say.. I am overwhelmed by the response and it feels like such a load off just to read and hear everyone's stories. And how it can be different and to let it be different. I can not say thank you enough times, I try to respond to everyone, but I am drinking from a fire hose!
