I don't believe in modifying my child's body based on anybody's beauty standards, including my own. My daughter can express herself when she's old enough to make that decision for herself.

My daughter got her ears pierced when she wanted to, and not a single day before.

You cannot compare piercings with circumcision at birth.

But as a body modification, I think kids have a right to express their opinion as to whether they want it done or not-at an appropriate age of course.

I’ve got the same view on religious and political biases that should never be imposed on kids.

I didn’t allow my (almost 4 yo) daughter to have her ears pierced.

Because of the physical risks i.e. infection or tearing. I’m glad it wasn’t don as she’s a major tomboy and would have probably ripped them horribly by now.
The holes become permanent after some time and that is her decision to make. I would like my dick whole but can’t put back the skin upon desire.

I think that any body modifications for non medical reasons should have to be done at an appropriate age like 16. That’s the legal tattooing age for where I live.

It should not be done until at least I think about 6, minimum. What age is debateable but I think the child needs enough mental development to be able to decide for themselves.
