Canada. It’s written nowhere in Canadian Criminal Code. California has also stopped using the term rape. Ditto New York. It’s common practice these days to use a catch-all “sexual assault” with varying degrees of severity. Therefore it’s if absolutely no use to shit on someone for semantics of rape vs sexual assault.
Not “people”, legal systems. Rape is not used in the legal system of many English speaking jurisdictions including a majority of US states. Many of the people commenting on this thread live in jurisdictions where you can’t be convicted of “rape” only certain degrees of sexual assault.
