Maldives is an Islamist fundamentalist nation. You are not allowed to be a citizen unless you are muslim. If you go there and even try to practice your own culture you go to jail.

Currently the island is being slowly dissapeared by water levels rising due to global warming. The fundamentalist muslims who live there are campaigning to the world to let them live in our countries as refugees. If they throw non muslims in jail for doing non Muslim things like swimming in a bathing suit, they should only be allowed to be refugees in fundamentalist muslim countries. You would think that's what they would want, but you know as well as I do that their first choice is to live in the great Satan, USA Canada and Australia.

So I went to uni with this girl (yes, girl not woman) and she’s just as entitled, self-important and narcissistic as she seems in this story, if not more.

In this case she literally walked past a mosque and a school while drunk in a bikini. Several people complained, the police asked her to put clothes on, she refused, they tried to arrest her using what looked like perfectly reasonable force to move her arms and she starts squirming and squealing about sexual assault.

Not only were her actions disrespectful to the people around her but incredibly disrespectful to every single person who’s ever ACTUALLY been sexually assaulted. When women like her claim sexual assault for no reason it belittles and undermines real victims and that is in no way ok.

I don’t like Muslim rules about how women dress and ideally yes, people should be able to dress how they want BUT this wasn’t her wearing a bikini as an act of protest. This was a drunk woman trying to show off and being disrespectful when people asked her to stop.

It’s like clothing with swearing on isn’t a bad thing but if a man walked into a child’s playground with ‘FUCK YOU’ on his shirt, I think parents have every right to say ‘can you please cover up which you’re here’ and if he didn’t, he should be removed from the area. Exactly the same here.
