In my group of friends at least 3 were accused of rape (falsely of course). Me myself was accused of rape in a public forum. I don't know the stats but I would say its close to 20% or more.

25%? No, thats not even close, including rape and sexual assault the supposed amount for their whole life is like 16% at worst. At least thats what is measured. Generally around 9% for men, even with their ridiculous unlikelihood of reporting it and doubly being taken seriously.

As for the false accusation/lightning risk, one is a completely random natural phenomenon, the other is some asshat committing a crime which is oft not reported, oft not punished and even if it is proven false is extremely damaging for someone's life.

Its like saying heterosexual women should always fear their partners. While it is true that most sexual assault and stuff come from people who are close to them, things change dramatically when it comes to bisexual women and lesbians, who are almost doubly more likely to experience these things from their partner compared to bi and gay men. Theres a lot we are not fully sure of when it comes to numbers, but women still share some of the blame in despicable acts

Much like if a woman worries about the (very) slim chance she gets assaulted, why wouldn't a man worry about being falsely accused? Both are very unlikely to happen, both are awful. People should keep themselves safe, doesn't matter what genitals you have.

The lightning stat only counts women who are arrested for false rape accusations as false rape accusations. If there wasn't a conviction for a false rape accusation, it isn't counted in your lightning stat. Of course women are rarely arrested for false rape accusations, and when they are, it's often because they have done it multiple times, or to a police officer.

Jemma Beale falsely accused 16 men of sexual assault and made $11,000 pounds in victim compensation before she was arrested. But she would only count as one false rape accusation in your lightning stat.

And this is why feminism is trash. This meme about lightning has been out for over a year. I've seen it debunked over a dozen times, I've debunked it myself 3 or 4 times, but no, that doesn't matter. Information only goes one way with feminists.

I am not sure how she arrived at the stats about false rape accusations - perhaps by dividing incidences of rape through the kinds of surveys that came up with the 25% figure (did you ever regret having sex or something like that) with the number of cases of false accusations proven beyond reasonable doubt. That would be clearly false, although I would still concede that the hysteria around false rape accusations is widely exaggerated in some circles (while some caution and common sense among men is indeed needed, renouncing sex or declaring a national crisis is going too far).

What does NOT follow is that speaking out about false accusations would somehow lead to hesitance about reporting rape. It is rather a sign that we are taking rape very seriously, as we should. In fact, I have never seen a case where there is a clear possibility that someone convicted of making a false statement was an actual victim. There have indeed been many where the court was simply not able to prove guilt and where a guilty man (mostly) was set free, but that is far from the same thing. It should be at least as difficult to prove a false accusation as it is to prove a rape, something which follows from basic fundamental principles about the rule of law.
