UPDATE: I ended up cancelling and telling him that I got cold feet and wasn't feeling it anymore. He was understandably upset but I feel very relieved and happy. Thank you all for your advice! X

Hello everyone! A year and a half ago I went on various dates with a man from Iran. He is amazingly down to earth and kind, yet honest and hard working. I felt attracted to him on our first two dates but gradually became less interested because he never kissed me, and also he seemed obsessed with me. He would text me constantly with kisses, telling me how amazing I am and that he couldn't wait to see me. In the end I told him that I wasn't feeling it anymore and we stopped dating, but remained in contact through facebook where he would like all of my photos. He moved to another city and that was that. Maybe I am attracted to men that are quite aloof, I am not sure, but I have not had the best of luck with men and would like to be more open minded but at the same time not settle for anybody who is nice to me.

Recently he has been texting me again, and I had forgotten all the negative things about him and remembered all the good times we had on our dates, what a gentleman he was and how we could talk about anything. He said he wanted to see me and asked if I am free this Saturday. I accepted and he then told me he booked a ticket, so we will have dinner on Saturday, and breakfast together on Sunday morning as well. All of a sudden I am feeling dread again, because he is coming just to see me whereas I thought he was coming to see friends as well. Now I remember how clingy he was with his texting and how passive he was, kissing only my hand and not really touching me at all. Should I go on the date and give him a chance? Am I completely overreacting? Any advice would be helpful, thank you.
