I hope this is okay to ask here: Hubby and I are going on vacation in 3 weeks and I'm having a hard time finding nice novels to buy and take with me. It seems modern literature is full of "I don't need a man" female adventures. Or, if they are about romance and family there's some kind of tragedy involved.

I know it's a long shot, but do any of you have any modern RPW reading recommendations? Which current authors do you enjoy? Thank you!
