It's interesting how no one in that very active thread is willing to even consider the "all men are dangerous and potential rapists" attitude that permeates society as being a factor in this injustice. Especially when this fear and hatred of men is only growing and being further fueled nowadays by the very same people who respond and act so outraged at seeing this tragic picture.

I searched through the thread for any mention of Brian Banks, Shawn Oakman, or others, but there were no matches. Not a single one, if you can imagine that. Given that those are recent similar cases, where elements of racism did play a part in false convictions, they should be important modern day events to consider. However, they are missing for a very good (bad) reason. It's because the cognitive dissonance that will occur when bringing them up is formidable, given how closely they also resemble the witch hunts around Brett Kavanaugh, the UVA frat house Rolling Stone article, the Duke Lacrosse team, the Triplett Craigslist case, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Desiree Nall, Mattress Girl, Danmell Ndonye, Tucker Carlson, Kobe Bryant, and many more.

It's frustrating that extreme prejudice and stereotypes against men are never raised or discussed in the tragic stories of men like Emmett Till. However, it's an indisputable fact that if Emmett Till were a black woman buying candy in a store, this accusation and lynching would not have happened to her.
