If you pay attention to the "toxic masculinity" narrative of the men's mental issues, you would see that "lack of honest and intimate friendships" is often cited as reason why many men struggle with depression. This issue is true and real, however, what you don't hear is the role the MSM has played in destroying these honest and intimate friendships between men. What is the image of a "married guy hanging out with friends" in many family sitcoms, soap operas and movies? It is usually the image of a guy getting drunk, having loads of fun, and sometimes philandering, contrasted with the image of a wife or girlfriend feeling lonely, unsatisfied and sad, along with children being uncared for. Male friendships for a married or committed man are portrayed as irresponsible selfish indulgences at the cost of the happiness of the man's family. So of course many men, who want to be responsible and caring husbands and fathers, would abandon their friendships, because they have been conditioned that these friendships are "irresponsible" and borderline infidelity. Naturally, these men who have lost the emotional support of other men, would be more vulnerable to emotional issues.
