Woman murdered a man and was initially only charged with manslaughter. Later it got bumped up to murder, but was reduced because she was under “Sudden Passion”. Also, her family testified that men had molested her early in life. If genders were reversed, the murderer would be on death row.

This is a rare one. A cop AND a woman was denied, against all odds.

So they're saying that she killed this guy because she was molested now? She only got 10 years. He got murdered. That's not justice. RIP Botham Jean.

She’ll be out in a couple years because “prison isn’t good for her mental health.” Happens all the time with women

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

At least 5 till she's eligible for parole, if I remember Texas law correctly.

That chick that goaded her boyfriend into suicide didn't get parole...the times may be a-changing, albeit slowly.

She claims she is appealing through her lawyers, so don't be surprised if she gets out earlier.

Sure it is, some random unknown, unidentified, non-existent male diddled her 30 years ago while changing her diaper, so she grew up, became a cop, had a badge and gun, came home after working 14 hours around criminals and let them get off scott free, and murdered a completely innocent man in his home eating ice cream listening to Christian Gospel music after working as an accountant. What about that doesn't make sense to you, and don't you dare try to mansplain to me why it doesn't make sense.

Ash: I chose you ! Go female murderer !

Judge: ha ! You really think that white trash is strong enough to beat me?

Ash: use female privilege on the judge!

Judge: gah! You're too strong!

Judge: Here take this badge, it can lower your sentence.

Ash: Alright we won !

Especially after they release her after 3 years because they are concerned about the effect prison is having on her mental health.

[–]Tealllane 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I expected her to get 10 years, she deserves more. In Texas however since it's a violent crime I believe she has to serve a minimum of 85% of the sentence. So she may be out in 8...for murdering a man in his own home, who she then stopped after realizing what she had done to sext a married man she was having an affair with.

[–]White_Mlungu_Capital 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So she will be out at 39 and continue to live a normal life while he is still dead forever. She deserved a life sentence.

[–]Tealllane 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, she will. The average prisoner for murder in Texas is serving 40years-Life, of I remember right...like almost 60% of them. Then 20+ years for like 30%.

To be honest with you, I and every other black person in America was surprised she was charged with murder, and found guilty at all. Before she was found guilty yesterday I expected her to be found innocent, would relocate to another police force, and receive back pay for all the wages she lost while not working as an officer.

This may be the start we see cops actually held accountable for killing people.

I don't know a single white person who wouldn't convict her. And I know some racist white people who fly confederate flags and have some messed up opinions. In Texas who do the sentences come from, the jury or the judge?

[–]C0deUnknown 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What about her effect on prison inmate, where she’ll teach them how to get away with murder... You will have more women copying her action

[–]uabeng 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

10 years? Damn. I would have bet a paycheck on 30, but 10? Damn.

[–]White_Mlungu_Capital 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've never heard of so many bullshit defenses being spouted from the BENCH by a judge in Texas which is supposed to be tough on crime. First the Judge told the jury to consider the "Castle Doctrine", then when that failed she said they should consider"Sudden Passion" then after Guyger was sentenced for MURDER, the JUDGE HUGGED the MURDERER! The Judge was a woman and clearly a feminazi as well, so who cares, she just shot dead some man, probably had it coming to him.

There are people who get in bar fights who are punished worse than this Guyger murderess. Pussy pass is for real. Who came up with this 10 year bullshit sentence, the judge or jury?

[–]Diesel-66 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Big issue is she was a cop not a woman. Dallas PD did everything possible to cover it up

[–]White_Mlungu_Capital 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, but luckily it failed, we do need change of laws in this regard to force police to stop cheating the system like this, but the big failure was the sentencing here. Her being a cop should make it viewed as worse, because she lied and broke the law and broke her oath and came up with a bullshit defense and lies wasting tax payer dollar. At least if she was a lifelong druggie it would be somewhat more understandable.

The menendez brothers got life in prison for killing their pedo pop and mom but I don't know if the two cases are compariable. I wish that the menendez brothers got a much lighter sentence rather than her getting a harsher one. (Assuming she was actually molested)

[–]sportsman10 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Quick update of facts, the judge of the case informed the jury of Texas' "sudden passion" clause, but as was reported by multiple courts news announcements, the jury chose not to consider the clause. The clause would have reduced the max sentence to 2-20 years instead of 5 years-life.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love how these molestation and abuse accusations always come out at the most convenient of times............. Whatever, just another dumb cunt who doesn't have to face the same consequences as a man. Just another reason to not give a fuck about women and their fabricated struggle.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a slap on the wrist for an obvious case of murder. She'll be out in five, too. Still, it's more than Daniel Shaver's murderers got.

[–]Handle-me-timber 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah this woman walked into the wrong apartment and shot someone. That’s the official story. But evidence suggests racial motivations and questionable moral code. Odds are high that her previous job as a cop probably contributed to a reduced sentence also. Still should be serving a 25 year minimum.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This one...feels complicated. Apartment complexes really are cookie-cutter. I'm sure we've all accidentally tried to unlock the wrong car...hell, I once made it all the way in (it was unlocked) and wondered where tf all my stuff had gone before I realized it wasn't my car. Sounds like she was staying in someone else's apartment, too. I could see it, coming home exhausted and not paying enough attention. I'd say maybe most people wouldn't have shot, simply because they don't carry 24/7, but it's Texas so I doubt that's true.

The possibility of a racial factor, and that she was a cop, muddies the waters. I only feel sympathy if her story was accurate, which is impossible to know, but I don't think it's at all unlikely that race influenced her decision.

I'm not sure what sentence a man would get, as I don't recall having ever seen an analogous case. But if it were a man that shot another man (assuming it really was a product of exhaustion and mistaken apartment), would we be rooting for that man to get a harsh sentence as well? Honest question.

[–]White_Mlungu_Capital 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How many of those people ever are stupid enough to shoot the person eating ice cream in "their apartment"?

If you live in a condo complex like she did, it is routine for work people to come through the units, everyone from security, plumbers, hvac, etc. people at all hours of day and night. If your unit is leaking heavily, they need to be able to go in their and shut off your pipes. The fact she was blind to this obvious possibility shows she is reckless, careless, negligent and motivated by ill will to jump to kill first.

There is a direct case that occurred this year very similar. An officer shooting a civilian. Officer Noor shot Justine Diamond and got a 25% longer sentence. Noor was on duty. She was not. Noor was called for a rapist in the alley. She was off work and had no reasonable expectation of a rapist approaching her. Noor followed his ambush training to shoot if someone runs up to your car unexpectedly and both officers were freighted by her slamming the back of the car. Guyger did the opposite of her department's policy which was to call for backup and wait outside, instead she jumped to shooting the guy dead. Noor was convicted of manslaughter = 12.5 years. Guyger convicted of the much more serious MURDER in a tough on crime Texas and 10 years. Pussy pass rules again!

As for the racism part. Usually in these cases we lack any direct evidence of racism. But it came out in the sentencing phase of the trial Guyger had admitted in text messages she was a racist (which is likely why she was spending so much time deleting text messages and scrubbing her social media).

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh hey, I do remember that case. Had to look it up to jog my memory, but yeah, I'd say his shooting was much more justifiable than this chick's, and the disparity in sentencing is pretty blatant, especially considering manslaughter vs murder.

I posted a link to the whole story. I’m missing “swaths”, because you can only use a certain amount of characters in the title.
