This AITA incident in an actual story which happened to me - it is related to men's rights

AITA mods are convinced I was trolling so they deleted and locked the post.

The post was:

"This happened a few weeks ago. I (M23) was meeting with some friends of mine (M20 & F20). These friends are a couple. We were looking for a place to eat, and they were interested in going to a nearby upscale Indian restaurant. Now I am ethnically Indian, and that restaurant was Indian in a whitewashed way. It is overpriced, and not authentically Indian. Plus, I was already running up spending budget lately and wanted to cut back. I had money, just didn't want to spend it on that. However, my male friend convinced me to at least sit down and check out the menu. So we did. The waiter gave us water and the menus. I looked at the price tag and wanted to leave. My male friend said okay, but then his girlfriend got feisty and refused. She said that it is rude to leave once the waiter has poured us water. I told her that this is not some mom & pop store; they are doing well and it is just water. We can walk out. She and i were both annoyed. So her boyfriend stepped in. He said. "Pretend this is a date. So she is a girl, so you know, we have to make her comfortable". I got angry, especially since I have been having trouble dating lately. I angrily told him "I'm not even f***ing going there. Equality goes both ways." The two of them were shocked that I had used a swear word. Now being outvoted, I had no choice and agreed to stay. AITA?"

Pretending like it's a date is EXACTLY 100% HOW IT SHOULD BE. They asked YOU out, so they have to pay.

Whenever I get a friend to go out with wife and i, and they say their financial situation is poor, we always insist on paying. Because we want their company, not to bankrupt them for our selfishness.

At the very least they can chip in for part of your meal to make up the difference, have you pay what you can afford.

Your financial survival is more important than someone's hurt feelings.
