It sounds like the book is a poster child for how to analyse things poorly. The book's author wants to define "misogyny" not by some stable definition related to the thoughts or acts of some potential mysogynist, but by the feelings of some other person.

The moment one starts defining something not by what it is but by how some other person experiences it, any clarity or consistency is lost. With a new generation of kids that seem to experience a wide range of experiences as traumatic and existentially threatening, a changing and increasingly broad range of situations would be deemed "misogynistic". By that way of seeing one tough person who accepts very bad behavior with mere annoyance is less a victim than a less resilient person who is damaged greatly by a small perceived slight.

It does no good to untether the basic words of an important discussion from clear and constant definition.

The author of the review offers no help by invoking ill conceived fictions like "patriarchy".

Oh wow another philosophical book that takes the post-modern idealization of femininity and blames everything bad that happens on men using extraordinary feats of paranoid logic wow, it even redefines misogyny from the "point of view of the victims" so that anything that feels bad to women is misogyny and we're supposed to trust that a movement built on paranoia can accurately discern what should go under a term and what's causing the phenomena ("men" naturally, said in a disparaging way, always and in every way) and believe that men should have no say in it whatsoever

You know why it's hard for them to define misogyny? It's because they want to define it as what it has come to mean or what they'd lkike it to mean, but the world hasn't become sexist enough to accept that it's current usage means anything a man does or fails to do that a woman either doesn't like or doesn't benefit her to a greater extent than it does him.
