"This is not about men vs women, it's about the rights of the child. The child support money is needed to raise the child and that's why the man has to pay."

Adding to this, is that women are financially capable of raising a child on their own in 2019. And if they aren't, then they obviously shouldn't be getting support, because that would be enabling irresponsible behavior. The best interest of the child would then be to be raised by someone else (custody to father, adoption).

Karen DeCrow was a bit more than a "feminist activist"; she was President of N.O.W. from 1974-1977.

A woman can also unilaterally decide to give a newborn child up for adoption in many places, and thereby relieve herself of any further responsibility for the child.

There are "Safe Haven" abandonment laws in every US state.

So it's completely unreasonable to make her share his punishment for actions that he alone decided to take.

The cliche response to this is "child support is not punishment".

A better hypothetical example might be a woman having a one-night-stand and then a year later finding out that the random dude has fallen behind on the mortgage for the house he decided to buy after they banged and, for some reason, she's being held jointly-and-severally responsible for the low-six-figures debt he incurred.

Also, everyone's telling her she's a sack of shit if she doesn't want to take care of his house, too.

This would be a good time to make a callback to every US state having a "Safe Haven" abandonment law. This "right to financial support" is clearly not inviolable, since every state allows a woman to violate it, no questions asked in many cases.

I'm many (most?) states the legal father is the husband of the woman regardless of who provided the sperm.

We as a collective must do more to further hone our speech. We will win this by convincing people, not shit-talking feminists (as much fun as it is).

The problem with this, is that we would simply be shifting the burden of paying for these kids from individual men, to the state. So now instead of just one man paying for his choice, it's ALL MEN paying for it. The structures involved giving single mothers (who become single mothers by choice) financial aid needs to stop.

Society needs to stop supporting these women's choices to become single mothers. Once they know that neither the man, not big daddy government will hold her hand and give her free money, perhaps it will stop.
