Might be she's just trying to get back at you for fading on her and has no intentions of taking this false accusation beyond the two of you.
Save and back-up any and all communications you've had with her. Sit down and write out everything you can remember of any in-person interactions you've had or anything you may have already deleted. If you've had relevant conversations about this with anyone else, save those, too. If you know someone who could be a witness, you can try talking to them to get their impressions on record.
If she's still talking to you on Instagram, try to get her to lay out a specific timeline of what she alleges happened. Ideally see if you can get her to talk about things in a way that she confirms what you remember.
Put it in a folder on your computer. Put it on a thumb drive. E-mail it to yourself if your e-mail provider doesn't periodically purge old messages/attachments. Put it on Mega. Multiple redundant on-site and off-site back-ups.
If, in a few more weeks or months, you find out she's started spreading lies to other people, you have all of this stuff saved fresh after the event. Since her tale is not bound by facts or truth, it will probably grow and mutate, with new details fabricated to support her version. It will be interesting to consider that none of these new things were present in the first draft of the accusation she made just to you. Or that the story has changed completely. Or that it's provably impossible or incorrect.
But most likely, she just wants you to feel bad the way she felt bad when you stopped talking to her, and nothing much will come of it.

You lawyer may be able to put you in touch with a colleague that can evaluate whether you should bother going after her for emotional distress, defamation, or whatever else may apply if there are further developments.
Just get your documents and such organized and then try to realize that worrying about it isn't productive.
