Can someone explain to me why having the kids is such a big deal? Is it more about the money or really about the kids?

Personally if it wasn’t about the money and the court decided the kids stay with her then fine, less stress on my shoulders. But it seems that money plays a huge role with respect to why each side want the kids.

Am I wrong?
