Honestly, if you're counting pennies like this your marriage is doomed period.
I'm just pointing out that she went around the "arrangement" to fund him. So for him to be a stickler about it now, when he has financial flexibility, is not equal to her not being a stickler about it when he was in law school and money was tight for her. If they were living on their own, which it sounds like they were, then her extra $1000/month disappears into living expenses real real quick. She was an asshole for the arrangement to begin with, but now he's responding to this old ass agreement she didn't even live by when he really doesn't have to.
Let me repeat my other comment. You have no idea how much of his shit she was paying for. All we know, per his words, is that she helped support him through law school, law school that resulted in him getting this huge income. We have no idea how significant it was but OP of the thread said it was significant enough that he should at least pay her back. So what's fair is he pays her back every penny she spent on him during law school plus interest, if she is going to get zero benefit from the education and income upgrade. Which is fucking insane since they are married. Her arrangement was stupid and she didn't even abide by it. He's trying to uphold a deal from 10 years ago, that she didn't even do. She's not an asshole for anything besides suggesting the fake ass deal she didn't even do when she was 24. He wants to hold it over her a decade later. It's fucking insane and you don't treat your life partner that supported you when you were dead ass broke that way.
I'm here for justice. The woman is not unilaterally wrong in all situations.
So, she insisted on this arrangement when she made more money and it benefited her. Now she wants to change the arrangement to benefit herself once again, just with his money this time.
I said she helped pay his expenses. You then disagreed and said she "slightly" paid his expenses. Neither of us have any idea the percentage of his shit she was paying for.
If the roles/genders were reversed everyone would cheer the woman that she earns so much more now and that her man was a petty little shit in the first place and that she shouldnt share her money with him now. Its absolutly ok for him to save his money but I am sure his wife will file for a divorce then and try to get the money that way.

She did support him through Law School, per his own admission, so he did get some of that extra money she was bringing in.

Where does it say she supported the man through law school?

Thanks. She did help "in part" as did his parents. He paid his own tuition so how much would she really be owed?

Why would she help pay his expenses while he was in law school if she thought he would fail? That makes no fucking sense.

Actually I would test her, I would say I wont do it and wait a month or a year maybe. If she accepts that then I would reconsider.
