I mean, they effectively have immunity from the law, at least compared to men. Why wouldn't they get involved in illegal business where their status as a woman makes them able to fly under the radar and get them a ton of money for simply handling things that the gangs have to be far more careful about compared to them?

This is probably going to be an unpopular thing to say, but if there's a rising number of women in gangs, maybe it's because they know they're far more likely to get away with things if they're caught and far less likely to be suspected or arrested for many things in the first place. It's the natural progression of things when you have two different justice systems for men and women.

Does Canada even have a program to try to keep boys and men out of gangs?
