Theoretically they just suck up whatever the man on the tele tells them.
People who go to these shows to watch poor, often mentally ill people with drug addictions tear each others lives apart for entertainment are not the type of people that are thinking deeply about any issues.

people who go to these shows have strict rules on what is allowed to do or not, they get notes when to laugh or when to clap, and if you do something on your own you get kicked out and if its a bigger disturbance they can even fine you, i was twice in shows like that, not about drama stuff but i bet its the same order there.

My cousin got cards for it and asked if I wanted to join, so volunteer I would say, had to be there 1 hour before the show started to get instructed, also since it was love there were no interruptions or bathroom breaks allowed

Sounds like you weren’t a volunteer and just an unpaid extra.
I was a paid extra for family feud once and everything you said is reminiscent of that experience. However I don’t believe the general audience is necessarily held to the same standards. More so encouraged to not be disruptions and will be thrown out if they cause any, but I don’t think they could be fined.
Could be different situations, but a lot of times these “extras” use gigs like this to help add experience to their acting resumes. A lot of good reviews at casting calls for things like game shows are stepping stones for extras with one or two lines in a movie or tv show (think like a cashier that says enjoy your day or something).
But like i said I did it once and could be wrong
Edit: for example general audience could leave when they want and would be quickly replaced by an extra to keep the crowd full. The extras literally wait on standby

I noticed shit like that and talk shows back in the day. For example, on Maury when you have a woman accusing a guy of fathering their child, everybody wants to be sympathetic. But the guy who is not so sure gets shamed and booed, even though the woman admits she with with multiple other guys at the time. The suspected father is demonized because he's rightly skeptical,and the woman immediately receives undue sympathy.

People act like they don’t want to be told what to think, but they don’t just like to be told what to think.... they crave it. And they’ll take it from anywhere. Church, the government, the military, celebrities, family, significant others.
It’s far too complex and frightening for most people to actually think about a situation and actively override their programming to be objective.

it was rightfully taken down imo. lie detector tests aren't a definite answer, they're just sort of an indication, and the way jeremy kyle put it was that if it said they weren't telling the truth then they were most definitely lying which isn't always 100% true. Apparently there have been other people who have committed suicide due to the after effects of being on the show

it's been taken down now though due to someone committing suicide because of the result of the lie detector test. Honestly, I feel like it's a good thing it's been taken down since lie detector tests aren't really all that accurate as people make them out to be, so it can ruin the lives of innocent people. even the police can't prosecute someone for failing a lie detector test, they just use it as an indicator
