"Feminists" complain when women are treated only a little better than men. USWNT complains they have to share the stage with the men. Aly Wagner saying "They wouldn't dream of doing it to the men." even though they just did because they don't care that the men have to share the stage as well.

The men are actually treated worse than the women. Two men's finals were scheduled so men are affected twice as much, but more to the point; the women's final will be played first.

About 30 years ago in Chicago, the city where March Madness was born (the phrase not necessarily the concept), people noticed that the stands were nearly empty for the girl's games and were at capacity for the boys. What they did was schedule the girls games right before the boys to boost attendance for the girls games.

It would not surprise me at all if this were the case. They might just see it as "bad form" to remind people that the women's game is just not that popular compared to the men's game. It makes sense. If they may eventually have to give women the same prize money and "conditions" as the men, they might want women to actually deserve it by generating the same revenue as the men. That won't happen unless the women's game becomes as popular as the men's.
