Only ‘beta males’ and incels are afraid of rejection, according to this woman. Well, I wanted to talk about this whole alpha/beta black and white distinction and what you all think of it.

I don't see the incel discussion or the fear of rejection discussion in the Twitter conversation, but here is what I think on the topic in general.

In order to get the opposite sex to make more of an effort, people shame the opposite sex for not having enough sex. Women who call men beta and incel, for example. They couldn't care less, nor do they even know, if those men are beta or incel. They are just trying to pressure the men into making more of an effort to have sex. When women say such things, they are revealing more of their own insecurities than insecurities of the men they are talking about. It's the same when women accuse men of being afraid of rejection. They are using a form of reverse psychology to dare the men to make more of an effort to ask them out or try to have sex with them.

Also, the incel thing was originally started by a woman. But I think there are very few real incels. Most people could get laid if they wanted to. The problem is they (both sexes) try to date outside their league and then they project the failure of that approach onto involuntary circumstances.

Lastly, alpha and beta personality types are both based on social insecurities, in my opinion. The only difference is that they react to those insecurities in different ways, alphas by portraying themselves as dominant and superior to boost their own egos, betas by following people who they feel might boost their social status. Omega people are naturally the most confident and secure. They neither worship the alpha people nor look down upon the beta people, because they don't have to.

Omegas don't have to protect their status, so they aren't as easily goaded.

I've also heard of a five-tier male structure that includes Gamma (opposition leadership) and Delta (competent happy drone) males, but women don't do well with abstractions beyond good/bad. (Fat-free? That means it must be healthy! loads up on carbs)

Alpha and beta male is a direct reference to the dominance and competency hierarchy.

In a dominance hierarchy like a wolf pack, the alpha is the leader, the care taker and even walks in the back of the pack to ensure safety. The alphas break up fights, tend to inter”personal” relationships in the community (the same is true for chimpanzees)

Beta male is actually incorrect. Betas are 2nd male in command. Typically there as a back if the alpha should die to continue to populate the pack.

The ACTUAL term that SHOULD be used is OMEGA male. In packs, the omega is the weakest, and least cared for in the pack. I’m assuming the word “beta” is used because someone thought it meant less than or “second” “after”.

Alpha male has a negative connotation with it that’s associated with what idiots call “toxic masculinity”. We used to have a word for this: machismo.

In a competency hierarchy, the alpha is the most competent. He or she is elected in an unspoken way to lead, as this person/animal is either more intelligent or more capable. You see it when lawyers make partner, military members are promoted and when athletes are chosen for the olympics.

The science behind these words is being lost because it plays on a Freudian notion about the human psyche that the humanities on universities (where feminism is either learned or sharpened) have almost all but banned.

Men who derive their sense of self worth from women will, logically, be the ones who fear rejection.

Men who realize women have nothing to offer in the first place have no fear of rejection. Would you fear rejection from a white elephant?

Alpha and beta are bullshit. I consider them one in the same, basically these refer to people who continue to play the social hierarchy game.

You can easily use the Uno reverse card here.

"Only beta females make comments like this"

The thing is that not everyone can get the alpha of the other gender (alpha on whichever parameter you choose), or even be compatible with the alpha (on the rest of the parameters). So you have to understand the prospective partner A LOT before you make significant decisions. Getting a woman's perspective is welcome, but the downside is that feminism has been brainwashing women for generations now, that any advice from there is at best not helpful even partly to men, or at worst, actively harmful to men. So the best option is to develop and improve oneself regardless.

What do you see as the difference between the alpha/beta male?

[–]a-Bird-on-a-Wing 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Genetics makes an alpha. Society makes the beta. The beta males are feminists.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I’d never thought about it like that. What about in an environment where society doesn’t play a role - in the animal world. How do the two differ there?

[–]kevinnelson89991 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Society plays a role in an any animal world where alpha and beta can be defined

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Would the beta in the animal world then be considered a feminist too? I can’t see the comparison here.

[–]kevinnelson89991 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The whole alpha beta thing comes from the animal world. The Alpha is the most competent Male, often the only one that mates and leads the group. The Beta would be second in charge and omegas are at the end.

Where does the feminist part come in though?

[–]kevinnelson89991 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What are you on about?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Guy above said beta males are feminists. Can’t make sense of it.

[–]kevinnelson89991 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What, so people are alpha by default?

[–]KaitonREEEEE 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well if you were an alpha male the chances of you getting rejected are slimmer than being the beta or incel. So naturally yes there is a correlation to social standing and fear of rejection.

Only ‘beta males’ and incels are afraid of rejection, according to this woman.

She's kinda right.

Explain

[–]Eastuss 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Do you think the Chad archetype worries about or fear rejection?

[–]kevinnelson89991 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Anyone who’s not a chad is an incel?

[–]Eastuss 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're asking a question instead of answering mine. You seem like you just want to be offended.

[–]kevinnelson89991 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you sure about that? Do you want me to be offended? How did you reach that conclusion? (and other questions of a similar tone)
