There is no amount of social attitude adjustment that will make sedentary behavior and red meat every night into healthy behavior. There is no amount of social attitude adjustment that will make risky behavior not risky; if currently risky things are made safe, young men will find something else because that is the point.

We can work on better health care for heart disease, and we are... but short of self-clones heart and vascular grafts, we’ll still only be treating the problem, not fixing anything.

You're obtuse if you think the reason for committing suicide lies in the way in which they want to attempt to commit said suicide - you're not actually addressing what has led them to that point.

Gee, I wonder if this relates to the above (poor diet and greater alcohol use as vices to perhaps escape something... hmm...).

This is similar to your comment on suicide: it shows zero understanding or compassion or empathy towards men. To pretend that men are making decisions to take their lives or have early graves and that it is entirely of their own making shows that you have a narrative to drive - one that is completely out of touch with reality - those decisions don't come lightly nor do they exist in a vacuum.

How about not demonizing an entire group of people because of their gender and framing their behaviour as toxic when the same traits bring about positive and productive contributions to society.

Which aligns with the idea that there are social and behavioural causation's behind these things, and that it's men's fault, which is shortsighted and unhelpful. If you don't actually think that feel free to clarify, as right now, that's how it comes across, considering your quotes (which you seem to agree with) and the context of your comments.

Hahahhahahh dude. You're a fucking moron. Me saying that is an observation, not an "emotionally charged comment," unless you get all butthurt about it.

The OP claims, in the last section, that men just do these things and that examining why they do so is 'victim blaming.'

But enlighten me. Why do you think that men are more likely to eat red meat with every meal (besides that it tastes good, and they like it - ie, choice), more likely to drink (besides that they enjoy it- ie, choice), more likely to take risks (besides that it's fun- ie, choice), and more likely to be sedentary in older age (besides that it's pleasant- ie, choice)?

The only one of those things that might have to do with intrinsic factors of masculinity is risk-taking, but even that can be moderated with a little self-control. The rest can be chalked up to hedonism and/or social pressure; the former is a personal failing, and the latter is what feminists have been talking about for decades.

Accurate diagnosis is always helpful.

No you did not come here to help. You came here to dictate and further accuse, and that is exactly what you did.

You came here and completely misrepresented the article, the cause, and, "yawn, went right to blaming us while dismissing the root cause, people like yourself. How you roll. Women have a devastating issue, it's societies fault. Men face devastating issues, it's men's fault. When women have issue, we seek to alter society for them, when men have issue, we seek to alter men to fit the toxic society.

Create a hostile environment for men, through hate and misinformation, and when they fail, blame them, and claim it is they, and not those that created the problem, who are at fault. Make up silly catch-phrases like "toxic masculinity", slap it on a lunch box, and peddle it out to our kids. They do not even have the proper definition of such, but they don't care, it works for them as is.

Now, sorry if I didn't blindly take that bait, but you are dipping your hook in the wrong lilly pond here. We are far to educated, have far too many resources at our disposal, and we've all heard it way too often. We know the problems, have done the research, which is why your accusation is such a poor attempt.

20 American veterans die each day -VA, 21 alienated fathers die each week, - ASPS Every issue that is a cause would have a solution, Outreach centers, greater study, funding and shelters for male DV victims, education would all have an impact, yet the NIH, (feminist leadership), is funding studies as to how women's toe-nails age.

Blaming "toxic masculinity" as defined by feminist, rather then by the man that coined the term, which runs parallel to the authors argument, would be the first step, and you are here trying to support rather than disprove that silly notion.

Just stop typing, you are part of the problem, not the cure.
