Also this "study" Is utter bullshit if it's the one I'm thinking of. Arousal based on explicitly sexual visual input has little to nothing to do with sexual orientation, ~~and they conveniently neglected to mention whether or not there was any difference in the degrees of response, only that one was present.~~ Even better, they found that lesbians exhibited more "male-typical" responses to lesbian porn. Meaning they're more attracted to women because they're lesbians and straight women are more attracted to men. Shocker.

Even if this study wasn't a pile of steaming waste, the results of a single exploratory study are meaningless beyond serving as an indicator as to whether or not the subject should be pursued. The procedure has to be fine-tuned because believe it or not, scientists don't always get it right the first time. The experiment has to be repeat with different variables controlled to figure out what is actually causing the observed effect. When multiple studies have achieved the same results and consensus has been reached about the process, then you might be onto something.

Life pro tip: Anything preceded by the words "a study has shown" can be summarily ignored. People who think this phrase is absolute, or even sufficient, proof of scientific fact have no idea what they're talking about.

We see, "a study" all the time.

Problem is, when people like myself research them, they are proven invalid, made up, exaggerated, with no basis in actaul science or research...but by then, the media has already ran with them, or extrapolated them on their own.

This one will be no different.

For what it's worth, I read a similar study about 15 years ago done with men and their bodies also responded to both.

I don't think that meant they were all attracted to the men in the gay porn. I think they got horny because it was sex, regardless of who was involved in it.

These studies are stupid.
