So my LTR a lot of times comes up to me to as a question regarding something going on with her matters.

I obviously don't want to ignore her totally, so I give her an ear!!! And then I give my opinion. At that point she starts arguing why my opinion is wrong ... as if I actually even wanted to give her my opinion. This has happened countless number of times.

So far I have tried: - do you really just want an opinion or are you planning to argue? - after she starts arguing - I say "whatever you think is fine", but i mean what is the point of all of that.

If i try to explicitly shut it down, she cries "not ready to listen"/"i can't tell you anything" - which is of course not what I want.

How do you gentlemen of TRP deal with this if you have any experience of this sort?
