What do you think of the idea of outlawing divorce?

Not a great idea, however, I think the system revolving around divorce, prenups, custody, and things in the aftermath definitely need to be revised. They’re extremely biased towards women in almost every circumstance.

I think no-fault divorce only makes sense if no children are involved.

And divorce for fault needs to be reinstated or we will keep punishing male victims of paternity fraud, infidelity, etc...

Why not simply de-legalise marriage? No reason it shouldn't have the same status as a bar-mitzva, confirmation, baptism etc. all well respected and surrounded by symbolism and meaning.

Still, non involve the state in any way. Marriage attracts no state benefits or legal advantages (accept a few trivial tax benefits in some countries) and creates many serious liabilities and risks.

I think marriage should be religious only. Why does the government care who marries who? Then, a divorce would only be through the church (or whatever institution they prefer), which holds little real power.

Seriously, think about it. Marriage is just saying "I am choosing to be with this person (for now)."

Listing the parents of a child, I am 100% cool with. Both so there is a record of relationship so they can know their parents, but I also believe children should be DNA tested at birth. They should know their birth parents, at minimum, so they have a chance to connect later in life (if seperated), and so they can find medical history of family.

No fault divorce is all that needs to end. The rise of broken families is the result of lack of commitment, because nothing currently requires it. To divorce, there used to need to be provable abuse, infidelity, or other acts that used to be or still are criminal.

It would be wrong to change the rules for existing couples, as has been done in the past, or to mandate such a thing for new couples, but i do believe there should be an option.

There should be an option that couples can take, so that they are "one flesh" under the law. So that there will be no possibility of separating them, until death. An option that includes permanent irrevocable consent, so that any sex between them would, in the eyes of the law, be a form of masturbation.

Couples should have the option to COMMIT to each other, for life. For better of for worse.

It would not have to be called 'marriage', call it 'legal bonding' or 'permanent union' or whatever. But only an option.

That way, If you do not want that kind of commitment, you can just get a regular meaningless temporary marriage.
