The article said 95% who received it were women, so, men are eligible and are taking advantage of the grant. While 20:1 isn’t exactly egalitarian, depending on the number of men applying, they might actually be providing the grant equitably.
I don't see an issue with the ad, could you point it out? The main post even says "The issue doesn’t discriminate by gender, age, social class or location, with men and LGBTIQ intimate partnerships also affected."
You can't make claims on how it is implemented. The numbers could equally end up like that because women are more likely to be financially abused. If women are significantly more likely to experience it, then information about it and addressing it should be geared to women. Obviously the majority is not every case, and with the stigma around men being abused by women it should be mentioned, but it doesnt make sense to stick to making sure help is given to men and women at the same amount if it happens to women more. If men are actually equally or more likely to experience financial abuse and there was nothing about helping them, I could understand the issue.
Yeah and I'm saying that it's that way because it affects women more instead of that it was implemented with bias. Also men are about 3 or 4 times more likely to commit suicide, a response of that proportion is fine, not the numbers you applied from another issue instead of talking about the issue itself.
I meant a response of that proportion in regards to suicide. You're still talking about the grants for financial abuse. But yeah to your second part it's totally possible its not brought up enough. That could be an actual issue that should be brought up itself instead of complaining about women, which is less helpful to men's issues.
