Okay so I was checking the wiki of a manga I like

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomie

Which is a horror manga about this girl that men obsesses over until the point of murdering her, but she always regenerates and multiplies and messes everyone up one way or another. To my surprise, under reception I found only a single quote from review with a highly 3rd wave feminist bias which I had never heard of before, and it actually came from a single article from a website that didn't exist anymore. The quote ended with this,

" The Tomie stories also fascinate in the way they exemplify a distinctly Japanese cultural variation of a prevalent pan-Asian and even worldwide theme that underlies the ubiquitous patriarchal, male chauvinistic domination of society that still prevails despite all the efforts of the feminist movements."

What the actual fuck? Do I even need to explain how fucked up its to put that bullshit twisted ideological perception of our society in a wikipedia article that doesn't even have to do with gender?

So I removed the link, then this editor undid my edit, vouching for the link. Then I edited it again, saying hey, the website doesn't exist anymore. He then found a mirror. So I said okay, either way cut that line off, it doesn't abide to being neutral. And he claimed that because it starts with "someone says" its a quote/opinion and doesn't break any rules.

He has 10 years as a wiki editor, this is the first time I felt compelled to edit an article. I don't know how to twist and turn their rules, I give you that. But that this can't be right... it's so fucked up. Its pure hateful radical ideology from a geocities-like shitty no-name website in a shitty review of a manga that has nothing to do with any of this. Sure you could interpret the story as however you wish, but to be highlighted in a wiki article and to wrap it up commenting outside the work as "the ubiquitous patriarchal, male chauvinistic domination of society that still prevails despite all the efforts of the feminist movements"? That's so messed up.
