Clever cartoon on what can happen when a man DOES talk about his feelings.

Man is found NOT guilty of rape, but the cops keep telling his prospective employers that he "might" have done it anyway. Another reason why false allegations are so evil.

I don't believe men want to dominate women. There certainly are men who do, but they're outliers.

Who wants dominance? I want equality. She missed the whole point

I feel like she just looked at TRP or mgtow subs/websites. At least she tried to do some research, I guess. That's more than what you'd be able to say about someone from the Guardian, NYT, or what have you.

I myself had the good fortune of growing up in the Mormon Church

That's where i stopped reading.

Oddly enough, it's immediately after that point that he starts talking sense.

Why get married as a man if you don't want children and can not find a woman who you feel is not likely to destroy you a few years down the road. You can unless really repulsive go out and find the sweet shop is open and giving away the sweets, so where you once had to get married to have a likely hood of getting it its relatively easy. You see friends or their parents or your parents divorcing and most of the time the husband is saddled with unbearable payments and ends up living in a tiny hovel or homeless (a large portion of homeless are divorced). Then you see father after father who has had their children torn out of their lives, no matter it seems how provable the mother being the worst option. You see men who work all the hours and then talk about having to ask permission to spend some money on themselves. You may see a battered husband but there is no escape for them and even with a provable violent mother she still gets the kids. I am surprised that the marriage rate is so high, given the risk of casual sex I am surprised more men don't just not deal with women.

There is no "gender war."

There is feminists attacking mainstream society making life painful for men.

I don't see men fighting back or doing anything.

They are just sitting here talking.

That picture of the two boxers reminds me of one thing: Rope a dope. It's how Muhammad Ali, beat the much larger and stronger George Forman. It's exactly what MGTOW/marriage strike is doing to feminists. Men used to stand there and take it. Now they're simply getting out of the way and feminists are still swinging as hard as ever. Of course someone wants the match to stop. It's round five and Foreman running out of steam.

On the male side, some men resent women’s “invasion” of once-masculine spaces to the point that almost any accommodation feels like a personal affront. The truth is, women do feel more vulnerable than men, in public, at work, or in social gatherings. We shouldn’t treat all men as likely aggressors, but men should be expected to conform to behavioral standards that serve, among other things, to help women feel safe.

Fuck your feelings.

[–]Dutch_Vigilante 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Tradcons gonna tradcon. Lets see what this woman thinks men think.

On the male side, some men resent women’s “invasion” of once-masculine spaces to the point that almost any accommodation feels like a personal affront.

No, it's feminists coming into "masculine spaces" and demanding it changes.

The truth is, women do feel more vulnerable than men, in public, at work, or in social gatherings. That’s because, in a very real sense, we are.

This statement, directly following the previous, is quite the non-sequitur. If you fear men in social gatherings, why even try to enter an "masculine space"?

We shouldn’t treat all men as likely aggressors, but men should be expected to conform to behavioral standards that serve, among other things, to help women feel safe.

These "behavioral standards" are unnamed and unexplained, in this article and in the real world, and a lot of people have vastly different ideas what they mean. So many men, tired and confused, just give up.

That’s always been a major function of gentlemanly behavior, without which men and women rarely find one another bearable for very long.

This is quite a misanthropic mindset. Doesn't make me want to interact with her at all.

Except women are not in more danger than men, they just feel that way. For instance, look at the world-wide homicide rate:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homicide_statistics_by_gender

Men are murdered at almost 4x the rate of women.

Or, all violent crime in the U.S.: https://www.statista.com/statistics/423245/us-violent-crime-victims-by-gender/

Men are still victims more often than women.

[–]Dutch_Vigilante 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are correct, but she doesn't mention crime. She only mentions an ill-defined concept of "vulnerability" and that men need to follow an unspecified chivalric code so they don't scare women.

As I said, Tradcons gonna Tradcon.

Homicide statistics by gender

According to the data given by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, worldwide, 78.7% of homicide victims are male, and in 193 of the 202 listed countries or regions, males were

more likely to be killed than females. In two, the ratio was 50:50 (Switzerland and British Virgin Islands), and in the remaining 7; Tonga, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Latvia and Hong Kong, females were slightly more likely to be victims of homicides compared to males. A 2013 global study on homicide by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime found that males accounted for about 96 percent of all homicide perpetrators worldwide and 79% of the victims (see the chart below). The homicide rate is per year per 100,000 inhabitants.
