There would definitely be outrage if the genders were reversed in this. I don't know how severe it would be, but it certainly wouldn't be cheered. There would be a cringe-factor and that, in and of itself, is pretty revealing in terms of how it frames double standards.

This case doesn't bother me because the kid clearly isn't at all bothered. If one of these women had grabbed him when he was clearly, seriously uncomfortable it would be atrocious. Though I agree even I'd feel a lot different if it were a bunch of men and a young girl. I'd find it awful even if she seemed to take it in stride. Probably because women very rarely present themselves as an immediate physical threat. Even though they're all capable of overpowering the kid, a bunch of full-grown men would be a lot more imposing.
