The rate was fairly stable between 1991 and 2000, but the trend has been generally downward since then…. In most years, males have been more likely than females to be killed…This gap has generally widened.
Mixed messages.
An attempt is made to blame men for most of the homicides, this contradicts much of the rest of the article, and is based on a study of only 70 cases!

I'd love to see a comparison with a chart for how popular feminist beliefs are for a given year.

There's the trend for feminism. It sort of matches.

I would posit that the homicide of infants is probably unrelated to parents/people disliking male infants more than female infants. No source, just a hunch. Remember, correlation does not equal causation.

Yep, I agree.
I would add that there isn't a need for stating "correlation does not equal causation" because there's no correlation or causation being claimed. For example, there's no associated graph of "parents' self-reported dislike for male infants as a function of the year" being presented.

You are correct. I assumed that somehow OP was trying to claim that make infants wee being murdered at a higher rate than females for some reason or another. My bad!

Hey it's no problem. That's why comment sections are here.

I guess you could presume it was another factor. Boys are more likely to die in accidents as well I believe, and that could be related to child behaviour.
But render, this is about infants. And the trend is pretty persistent. To me it seems probable that it is hatred toward males.
My guess is that if the issue were the opposite three would be a heck of a lot of research into the reason why girls were being harmed more.

Wow, that divide in the last couple years, boys shoot up, girls lower drastically.
Thats pretty disturbing. Makes me a little fearful to ever have a son.

It's kind of interesting isn't it.
Since feminism got more mainstream it's been rising constantly. Coincidence? Where are the figures up to 2017?
