If you use the newest additions to the Star Wars Saga as an example, along with video games like the new Battlefield; they all seem to force a female lead to try to make a point. But all that does is take away from the badass female characters before them. I don’t know if you noticed, but Princess Leia was a BAMF. Stop forcing the issue, the world is a lot less prejudice than most people might think.

basically in a nutshell: they took the traditional established fanbase for granted and assumed they would just chow down on anything given to them because its STAR WARS, so they tailored their new films to a new demographic of liberal women and political activists.

then were surprised when the existing fans said "WTF is this shit?" and started abandoning the Brand/license.

Now they are in a worse position than if they had done nothing as the traditional fanbase is now in "Buyer beware mode" and more sceptical of any future release.

I am not really a fan of starwars, i have seen them all but never really invested in any of it, but even i think i could have made a better more successful film than the shite they piled out.

if i was Disney i would be on the phone to Christopher nolan immediately

Didn't like TLJ but the only way half of these SJW arguments towards Star Wars hold up is if you've only watched movies and ignored the rest of its media. I usually started ignoring the "wah they are all SJW" cries when they thought only clones were storm troopers and heaven forbid if a black one showed up 60 years after the Clone Wars. There have been plenty of great female characters in Star Wars, Disney just tossed them all to make sure their toy market thrives.
