If a woman seeks out 2 famous athletes and sleeps with them on the same night, the men are "guilty of vile misogyny." No word on whether the women are misandrists if a man sleeps with 2 women on the same night.

You knew it was coming: maybe the police shouldn't prosecute Asia Argento for statutory rape because other metoo survivors might not come forward with their stories.

Woman chloroformed a man at gunpoint, drove him to another town, chained him to a bed, and raped him for 3 days in 1977. Journalists felt "the case provided 'light relief' for the newspaper-reading public, from more serious stories about politicians."

Men's lives literally don't count. HEADLINE: "Nigerian soldiers battle Boko Haram, kill 15, rescue 49 women, children." 10 PARAGRAPH LATER: "Four men, 33 women and 16 children were rescued by the troops from the insurgents’ hideouts."

One NY college president was fired for refusing to fire a professor after 3 investigations cleared professor of sexual misconduct allegatoion. Another NY college president was hired despite a sexual assault conviction. Guess which president is a white male and which is a black female.

Sex is illegal now- but only for men.

By sex, I think you mean jerking off at home to your phone. No sex in this story.

Any man, anytime.

There has to be more to this than meets the eye.

As one commenter noted, this seems to have been done through his off-time work with a Christian organization he supports. While she doesn't work at the firm, depending upon what was specifically said in those texts, it could have been enough that the firm decided to separate themselves from his behaviour.

Former Latham employees and others in the legal industry expressed shock Tuesday, describing Mr. Voge as a well-respected lawyer who has made diversity and the advancement of women a hallmark of his leadership tenure.

Oh well, live by the sword...

Hopefully he's learned something from this.

Yes, men can learn a lot from being fired for not being asexual.

Moral busy bodies are pretty much what's happening now. For quite some time it was the Religious / Conservative right but not it's moved to the progressive left. A weird change, to be sure.

Latham’s executive committee said the resignation follows a series of voluntary disclosures by Mr. Voge related to “the exchange of communications of a sexual nature with a woman whom he has never met in person and who had no connection to the firm.”

The committee said that Mr. Voge, who is based in London, “engaged in subsequent conduct relating to this matter that, while not unlawful, the executive committee concluded was not befitting the leader of the firm.” The contents of the communications, including the identity of the woman, weren’t revealed.

Right. My best guess here is that she broke off the sexting and he went off on a "nice guy" texting tirade about how all women are sluts and whores. Which is not going to be acceptable as the public image of the nation's largest law firm.

So knowing nothing at all about what, if anything, happened, you are willing to invent tons of stuff with which to blame the man.

If you ever get on a rape jury, there's little doubt how you'd vote, on general principle. Why bother listening to the evidence when you can invent a better reality in which to frame his guilt?

Dude, seriously? Way to over react and scapegoat.

the resignation follows a series of voluntary disclosures by Mr. Voge...

First, you do not make voluntary disclosures if you don't think you did anything wrong. Second, he wasn't fired. He resigned.

I object very strongly to our current draconian PC culture. That doesn't mean I don't believe it exists or that PC violations of a head partner could not unfairly tarnish a firm's image. This guy did not resign because he thinks he is completely innocent. He resigned to protect the law firm.

Overreact? Really?

You read this...

Latham’s executive committee said the resignation follows a series of voluntary disclosures by Mr. Voge related to “the exchange of communications of a sexual nature with a woman whom he has never met in person and who had no connection to the firm.”

And conclude this...

Right. My best guess here is that she broke off the sexting and he went off on a "nice guy" texting tirade about how all women are sluts and whores.

And you think I'm overreacting? You have a rich fantasy life, but it would see that the line between reality and fantasy is not clear for you. But it's pretty clear what you think of men.

First, you do not make voluntary disclosures if you don't think you did anything wrong. Second, he wasn't fired. He resigned.

In the days of #metoo, there is no need to have actually done anything wrong. And who said he was fired?

I object very strongly to our current draconian PC culture.

We can tell.

This guy did not resign because he thinks he is completely innocent. He resigned to protect the law firm.

We only know the PR published in WSJ. That is, we don't know a lot.
