While obviously what she did was terrible its hard to compare the cases because she took the deal, he pushed it to trial, refused to cooperate and by a few accounts was obstructionist to the point of contempt then basically admited to running a ponzi scheme but defended it by saying that at the point of discovery nobody was out any money.

She most definitly shouldnt have been offered the sweet deal that she was but I think thats a general issue with high level white collar crimes getting a pass.

I dont disagree, but to be fair, I would imagine Martins behavior had a lot to do with why he got 7 years.

Part of it is Holmes settled whereas Shkreli didn't. Still, it's easy to settle on the tiny penalty the SEC offered her.
